Coffee shops are one of my favourite things about living in Toronto, and my latest Wu Wei Coffee review highlights a spot that truly stands out. No matter the city, I can’t resist cafe-hopping, and Wu Wei Coffee has become a must-visit in Toronto. There’s something magical about sipping on a perfectly crafted matcha or coffee, while enjoying baked goods that pair so well with them.
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll know I’ve reviewed many cafes in Toronto. Some favourites include Himalayan Coffee House and Forest Cafe. However, Wu Wei Coffee has earned a special place with its unique offerings and cozy vibes.
A hidden gem: Wu Wei Coffee
Recently, I visited Wu Wei Coffee, a TikTok-famous spot tucked inside the 6×8 art market. The space reminds me of The General Store, with curated goods by local Toronto artists.

At the very back, you’ll find Wu Wei Coffee, where they serve viral matcha creations like the Iced Coconut Matcha Cloud.
What I tried: The Iced Coconut Matcha Cloud
Naturally, I had to try their famous Iced Coconut Matcha Cloud. I ordered a 16 oz drink with oat milk. As a self-proclaimed matcha aficionado, I was eager to judge its quality. Having made matcha at home for years, I think I can tell good matcha from bad matchal. Luckily, it did not disappoint.

Rich, creamy matcha perfection
The matcha was rich and creamy, with no grassy or bitter notes. It wasn’t watered down or diluted. Instead, it delivered the smooth, full-bodied flavour I expect from premium matcha. Indeed, the Iced Coconut Matcha Cloud showcased all of these qualities beautifully.

Why Wu Wei Coffee’s matcha stands out
As someone who’s struggled to find good matcha due to recent shortages, I was thrilled to discover that they sell their matcha powder. Priced at $22 for 50 grams, their matcha is sourced straight from Japan. After trying it at home, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. It’s now my go-to for making matcha lattes at home.
The vibe and experience
While this cafe isn’t ideal for lingering or long visits, it’s perfect for grabbing a drink to go. Its location in the heart of Kensington Market makes it easy to wander around the neighbourhood, drink in hand, and soak in the area’s vibrant energy.

Final thoughts: A must-try for matcha lovers
Without a doubt, I’ll return to Wu Wei Coffee this summer to try more drinks and restock my matcha. Whether you’re a matcha enthusiast or simply enjoy discovering unique cafes, it’s a must-visit. Their matcha is nothing short of amazing, and I’m so glad I found it.
