I used a little PTO for a personal day and ended up trying the viral LA stuffed bagels in Markham at Nisa’s Cakes and Cafe in Unionville. I had seen them on TikTok, which was apparently all it took to make me curious.
I had never heard of LA-style stuffed bagels before this, but people around Markham kept posting about them. So we met around noon and made stuffed bagels our entire lunch agenda.
Inside Nisa’s Cakes and Cafe
The café is cute, feminine, and bright, with checkered floors and coral-toned details. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, so it works well for lunch or a relaxed friend date.

The owner is also a professional cake artist and baker, so the sweets are a big part of the café. You’ll find custom cakes, cake slices, cookies, and other treats alongside the regular menu.
I wasn’t there to work, but the space felt better suited to catching up with someone than opening a laptop for hours. I’d choose it for lunch, coffee, or a friend date rather than a serious work session.
Choosing the viral LA stuffed bagels in Markham
The hardest part was deciding what to order because the stuffed bagel menu has plenty of tempting options. Flavours include Pizza Crush, Garlic Dream Bagel, Philly Cheesesteak, and The OG Chicken Melt.

I ordered the Pizza Crush with beef pepperoni and the Cheesy Garlic Dream Bagel. We also tried the garlic jalapeño, OG Chicken Melt, and Peri-Peri Chicken.
The Peri-Peri Chicken was available in store, even though I didn’t see it on the regular online menu. Apparently the solution to too many choices was simply ordering more bagels.

The bagels are rich, cheesy, and much closer to a full lunch than a quick breakfast. At around the $11 range, they make the most sense when you split a few flavours with someone.
The chai surprised me
We came for the bagels, but the owner’s husband encouraged us to try the chai. I’m glad he did because it ended up being one of the surprises of the visit.
The chai was creamy, rich, and more comforting than the sweeter Starbucks-style chai I usually drink. It had enough flavour to stand on its own without tasting overly heavy.

More than just stuffed bagels
Nisa’s also sells coffee, trendy canned drinks, cookies, cake slices, and custom cakes. You may also find extra stuffed bagel flavours in store that don’t appear online.

I like that the café understands what people are curious about without relying entirely on one viral item. The baking side gives the space more personality and makes it feel like a neighbourhood café rather than a TikTok pit stop.
A cute Unionville stop
Nisa’s fits naturally into a slower Unionville afternoon because you can eat, sit for a while, and wander Main Street afterward. It is cute without feeling like the entire room was designed for photos.
If you’re trying to romanticize your fall, this works surprisingly well. A warm drink, a stuffed bagel, and a Unionville walk feel very Gilmore Girls, especially since parts of the pilot were filmed here.
Are the viral LA stuffed bagels in Markham worth trying?
I think the viral LA stuffed bagels in Markham are worth trying if they’re what caught your attention in the first place. They’re filling, fun to share, and different enough from a regular bagel to make the visit interesting.
Go with someone who will split a few flavours because choosing only one is harder than it should be.
