I know it’s kind of ridiculous to hire a Toronto dog photographer for a photoshoot, but I’ve always wanted to do one. Here’s my 30 before 30 bucket list – proof!
Choosing a Photographer
Anyway, I decided to reach out to Danica, who specializes in pet and wedding photography. It was between a studio shoot and something more natural in a park, and I opted for the latter. Danica’s style is very much influenced by nature, so there are lots of pond and forest shots.
Preparing for the Photoshoot
Prior to the photoshoot, which I booked months in advance, Noah was groomed at Timmie Doggie Outfitters, and I got my lashes done at Lashes by Jen.
The Head In The Clouds Dress
My photoshoot concept was inspired by this Head In the Clouds French puff dress from Selkie, which I bought a month in advance.
Choosing a Location
We had to cancel due to the heat wave, knowing Noah is super sensitive to heat. Therefore, we rescheduled for a slightly cooler evening that week at a nearby park.
Although this park was mostly artificial, it still had a lot of trees, a pond, and big hills. To really get into the fairycore theme, we used all 3 of these landscapes.
The Purpose of this Photoshoot
In addition to capturing memories of Noah and me, I also got to update all my profile pictures with this photoshoot.
I lowkey want to do this yearly now to document my life with a new dress. Maybe every 3 years would be more realistic, but I have zero regrets knowing I have these amazing photos.
Additionally, it was fun to work with a photographer who loves what they do and is so comfortable with their clients. On one hand, she had a camera, and on her back was a backpack with a stereo blasting I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers.
Don’t think twice about doing a photoshoot for you and your significant other, for just you, or for you and your pet with a Toronto dog photographer. It’ll be so worth it.
