It’s hard to pinpoint one good thing that God has done in my life. You see, God is working a new miracle every single day. It’s those times when I wake up feeling burdened by my anxious thoughts, and the weight of other people’s expectations that listening to a prayer, a 3-minute worship song and reading scripture can transform my heart in a quick remedy for my troubles.
As someone who has struggled with letting go and wanting to do it all, I’ve seen God test me in many ways. He’s been working on me, day by day, by making my plans go awry or leading me down a path I never expected to go down. There are days where my plans fall apart, and I can feel my soul crumbling to dust. It’s in those moments that my heart yearns for God to hold me and to take my hand into the unknown places.
Letting go is an art, but it’s also a spiritual journey. It’s faith in simple terms. I’ve learned that every day I plan, and my plans are maneuvered, shaken down and uprooted by God, I become closer to Christ. For in those moments, my heart depends on God to breathe. Just brush the dirt off from my falls and try again.
So, what good deed has God done in my recently? I’ll tell you. It’s simple. He’s held his hand out to me every time I fell and pulled me up, gently guiding me to the path he wants me to go on next.
And that’s one unbeatable gift that God gives to all of us.
