A lot can happen in 4 years. You can complete high school in that time. And spend another 4 years completing a whole degree. And then spend another 4 years after that degree and be 25. This brings me to today. Hi, I’m 25 and in 5 years I’ll be 30. So it got me thinking, what are 30 things I want to do before 30?
This kind of freaks me out because I had a whole life envisioned for myself at age 23 that looked a whole lot different than it turned out, and I also had a whole life envisioned for myself at 26…which I’m not sure will happen. So, if anything, it shows me life moves a lot faster than I think it will.
In the blink of an eye, you’ll be 30, 40, 50, 60. 10 years no longer feels like middle school, high school and the start of college. 10 years can slowly start to feel like 5 years, and maybe even less than that as you age. I want to experience certain things by age 30. Most of these things I can control, but some of these I can only work towards them and hope serendipity meets me in the middle.

Personal Development
Things I want to do before 30 in the personal development category.
- Learn how to diversify my investments and get control over my spending.
- Finish reading the books I have and purge my TBR.
- Forgive myself and others who have hurt me.
Experiences
Things I want to do before 30 in the experiences category.
- Have professional photos taken of me and my dog.
- Meet and have a quality conversation with the creators of A:TLA.
- My dream has always been to move into my own condo and furnish it the way I want (and then host dinner parties, movie nights, c-drama binge sessions).
- Drive across provinces or countries.
- Go see my favourite band live.
- Learn and master how to make onigiri.
- Put together an authentic Princess Tiana and Katara cosplay.
Fun
Things I want to do before 30 in the fun category.
- Get into a wellness routine that I can do on autopilot.
- Get really skilled at snowboarding and experience snowboarding in Whistler, BC and all over the world (major win). The urge to learn snowboarding finally hit me after watching Fourtry 2.
- Learn how to do a waltz jump or a single axel in figure skating.
- Attain my third black belt degree and master the bo staff, sword, and fan. Teach taekwondo part-time to kids or adults. Compete in a Taekwondo tournament. Work on my aerial and splits.
- Learn how to swim.
- Invest in voice lessons.
- Take an aesthetic photo or video every day for a year, and make a montage.
Travel
Things I want to do before 30 in the travel category.
- Enjoy a winter cabin getaway at Blue Mountain with a group of friends or family.
- See 10 countries: China, Japan, Jamaica, Germany, France, Bahamas, Korea, USA, Iceland, Canada (Quebec, Alberta or British Columbia).
Career
Things I want to do before 30 in the career category.
- Publish the first book in a YA fantasy/dystopian trilogy, then go on tour.
- Have the confidence to vlog my hobbies/routines on YouTube or TikTok in a way that appeals to me and others.
- Have multiple income streams.
- Start a ministry.
- Win an award at a film festival.
- Direct at least three short films.
- Work on a major animated series.
- Invest in filmmaking equipment.
Languages
Things I want to do before 30 in the learning category.
- Speak Mandarin well enough to get by in China.
- Learn to speak German at an advanced level.
- As well as Korean at an intermediate level.
- Plus, Japanese at an intermediate level.
