Toronto is no stranger to specialty lattes and cafes. It’s such a vibrant city with various cultures and that’s reflected in the various cafes. Plearn Cafe caught my attention due to their TORON-TAR-RO LATTE and CLOUD LATTE that I saw on social media. There was something so beautiful about the drink that captured my attention long enough for me to visit the cafe.
I was thrilled to find out it was located right beside the university I attended. If it was there when I actually attended, I would have indulged in so many lattes and studied in that cafe plenty of times.
The Interior Design of Plearn Cafe
First things first, the cafe is just beautiful to look at. Many cafes and Instagram-worthy spots love to incorporate LED signs into their decor, and Plearn is no exception. Witty LED signs make for some aesthetic Instagram posts, after all. The cafe had cool shades and fun tables.

The best part of the cafe is, of course, the drinks, and secondly, the pastries and desserts offered.
Reviewing the Drinks at Plearn Cafe
I really wanted to try the TORON-TA-RO LATTE, but I would return to try the CLOUD LATTE and CHOCO-MALLOW drink next. I also ordered the butter croissant and my boyfriend ordered the LYCHEE CARNO.
Overall, I’d definitely rate the TORON-TA-RO latte a 10/10. The creaminess of the taro mixed with the sweetness of the purple yam and marshmallows added the right touch. This drink is not only adorable to look at, but also comforting.
Plearn Cafe’s Butter Croissant
The butter croissant was fluffy and well-toasted. I’d prefer it if it wasn’t as crusty, but it was still tasty nonetheless.
