Winterfest at Canada’s Wonderland was a blast. It was a simple way to have some fun on a rather chilly day in Toronto. If you’re familiar with Vaughan’s most infamous amusement park, you’ll know that Canada’s Wonderland is usually only open during the summertime.
However, this year, was the first year that Canada’s Wonderland opened it’s doors to bring the amusement back into winter.
From beautiful light displays to the screams of people on rollercoasters amidst joyful Christmas music, the festival had a lot to offer to those of us who attended its first year. Read this post for ideas on activities to try at Winterfest in 2020.
#1 Take Photos with the Light Displays
The entire amusement park is decorated with string lights, from trees to displays made up of lights themselves, there are so many beautiful lights to see and take photos with.
#2 Take a Ride on Select Rollercoasters
Since rollercoasters probably don’t function that well in the winter, there were only a select amount of rollercoasters available.
If you watch the vlog listed above, you can see we went on a lot of rides suitable for children. You won’t be able to get on the Yukon Striker, you adrenaline junkies, but you’ll be able to get on some of the tamer rides.
#3 Eat Christmas-inspired Treats
If you’re in a festive mood, Wonderland is serving up interesting food inspired by the Christmas season.
#4 Explore Candy Cane Lane
So, I’m not sure if it’s exactly called Candy Cane lane, but there were gigantic figures of candies and candy canes, so I’m going to go with that title for now.
The Kid Zone has been transformed into a candy cane oasis, with big statues of lollipops and gingerbread people. Perfect for your next Instagram posts.
#4 Observe the Strange Grass Sculptures
As you walk through Winterfest, you’ll notice some strange grass sculptures. Take a moment to stop and appreciate their strange beauty.
All in all, Winterfest at Canada’s Wonderland is worth checking out in 2020. It’s definitely a lot of fun with a group of friends or family members, so make sure to go as a group when possible.
