You guys. Avatar: The Last Airbender partnered with Colour Pop cosmetics on a makeup line. And I said SAY LESS. I needed this Colour Pop Cosmetics x Avatar: The Last Airbender collection.
The fact that A:TLA is popular enough to be licensed out to multiple brands, including makeup brands, is amazing. We only had a few comics at the Indigo bookstore, DVDs and colouring books in 2007. There’s A:TLA loot in every form now. It’s impossible to collect everything like in the past.
I picked up some Animal Crossing items at Colour Pop Cosmetics last year, as well as their Sol Glow Oil and Sailor Moon glitter gel. This year, I restocked the Sol Glow Oil and some items from the A:TLA collection.
So, what did I get?
A:TLA Shadow Palette
There is no doubt that this is the focal point of the Colour Pop Cosmetics x Avatar: The Last Airbender collection. There are so many different colours in this eyeshadow palette (which is much needed, BTW), and the names of these colours are awesome!
Fans of the show will recognize the names, locations, and meanings behind these palette names. Love the attention to detail in the naming and packaging of the product.
I tried Quicksand and the pigment is actually pretty great.
Kyoshi Warriors Fanatic Lip Stain
Inspired by the Kyoshi Warriors of the Earth Kingdom, this lip stain is a VIVID red that’s way outside my comfort zone. It would be nice over a darker matte red lip stick (perhaps one of the Rare Beauty ones). It’s a lot more glossy than anything else.
The stain has a lot of pigment and it does have a tingling sensation, so if you have sensitive lips, you might not like it. But, if you want a bold red lip, this is it.
Got Glow Super Shock Cheek Highlighter
Inspired by the Avatar State, this highlighter is pretty decent, but would probably work better on a fairer complexion. There’s either not enough pigment or it doesn’t suit my skin tone. I’ll play with it more, but it’s not anything special.
What do you think of the Colour Pop Cosmetics x Avatar: The Last Airbender collection? Are you picking it up as a makeup enthusiast, Avatar: The Last Airbender collector, or both? Let me know!
