Anime North was a blast this year. I truly enjoyed myself and will miss it.
I returned to Anime North as media this year. I brought the Canon G7X to take photos and vlog. It was my first time using this camera, and I am so impressed with the quality. As we were filming on Friday, my friend and I
On Friday, I rode the UP Express train from Union Station to Weston Road for the first time. They made an error with my ticket booking, and I receive unlimited rides on the train for a whole year. Amazing! The only thing is that I’m not quite sure when I’m going to use this train next.
That evening, we attended the Moonlight Ball. It kind of reminded me of a middle school dance, but we only stayed for about 30 minutes. Thus, it was difficult for us to get a true understanding about how the event panned out. We attended the Japanese Pop dance briefly and then went home.
Sunday was the highlight of the weekend. It is where most action occurred. I transformed into a Korra cosplay and filmed a video about how I get ready as Korra.
Filming Cosplayers
My main focus on Sunday was to shoot cosplayers with my DSLR. I definitely learned that 1. I need a lens filter to ward off the sun’s impact on the footage and 2. It may be worth investing in a prime lens like the Sigma Art Lens.
Milestones for Lunch
Around noon on Sunday, Elliya and I went to Milestones for lunch. She ordered tenders with sweet potato fries and I’m a pescatarian so I ordered salmon and rice. Itadakimasu!
Getting a Deal at the Dealer’s Room
I met up with my cousins and friends on Sunday. We explored the dealer’s room. I totally snagged the cutest keychains at the end of the day. They were 3 for $12 which wasn’t terrible. Usually, they sell these types of keychains for about $8 to $12 each which is ridiculous.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Photoshoot
There was a lot of Avatar:The Last Airbender moments on Sunday. From a Bending Workshop that I attended for 15 minutes and an unofficial Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra photoshoot which I helped to spontaneously plan.
All in all, it was a fun weekend. I was super tired and I really wish I could get my cosplay music video and vlog out quicker, but when you have a full-time job…things roll out a lot slower. Hopefully, you will still be interested in the content nonetheless.
