A jasmine tea lover’s dream: a Molly Tea in Toronto review

Molly Tea invited me to experience their newest café, and this Molly Tea in Toronto review feels like a full-circle moment for someone who has willingly gone out of their way for jasmine milk tea more times than I care to admit publicly.

The new location is at CF Fairview Mall, right by Don Mills Station. And for context, I have already visited the Richmond Hill location near Highway 7 multiple times. I have commuted north. I have waited before opening. I have planned entire days around this tea. So yes, a closer location, and one that happens to be ten minutes from the church I attend on Sundays, feels very exciting.

Why jasmine milk tea has me in a gentle chokehold

Molly Tea is known for their jasmine milk teas and floral blends, especially their white champaca milk tea. I have always been a jasmine milk tea girl. This is not a phase.

It started in college, introduced by a friend. It followed me into first dates. And yes, I drank jasmine milk tea on the day I got engaged. Some people have champagne. I had jasmine milk tea. Priorities.

And then there is the very important cultural reference. Jasmine tea is Uncle Iroh’s favourite in Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you know, you know.

Inside the new Fairview Mall Molly Tea location

The Fairview Mall Molly Tea is located on level one, directly across from T&T, surrounded by other popular Asian cafés and shops. Visually, it is stunning. Clean, polished, and thoughtfully designed without feeling cold or sterile.

During the tasting event, I did not notice any seating, so this does not feel like a laptop-and-stay-for-three-hours café. Instead, it feels very intentionally grab and go. The kind of place you stop at mid-shopping to get something calming to carry with you while you slowly lose track of time in the mall.

Honestly, this feels right for a floral tea spot.

The drinks we tried (and yes, I have thoughts)

The team welcomed us warmly the moment we walked in. There was a small tasting booth near the entrance where guests could sample their jasmine milk tea.

For this Molly Tea in Toronto review, we tried four drinks:

Hot Snowy Jasmine Milk Tea at 70 percent sugar, with whipped cream and tree nuts
Hot White Champaca Tea at 70 percent sugar
Iced Matcha Jasmine at regular sugar
Iced Snowy Jasmine Tea at 70 percent sugar with sago, whipped cream, and tree nuts

Sugar levels, tea strength, and ordering like you know what you are doing

They recommend 70 percent sugar, and I understand why. If your taste leans more western and you love very sweet drinks, you might find this unsweetened.

At 70 percent, the florals actually get to speak. I personally prefer a strong brew. If you can ask for a stronger jasmine brew, I would recommend it, especially for milk-based drinks where the tea can soften a little.

White champaca is the main character

The White Champaca Milk Tea is bold. Floral. Confident. It does not hide behind milk or sweetness. You are getting florals immediately. My husband said this one was his favourite without hesitation, which tells you everything you need to know. If you love strong floral teas, start here.

Thoughts on the matcha jasmine

The Matcha Jasmine Milk Tea is lovely, but it is important to manage expectations. This is not a strong matcha latte. It is jasmine tea with a matcha cream top, so the matcha flavour is soft and subtle.

If you love gentle matcha, you will enjoy this. I recommend ordering iced drinks with less ice so they do not water down, and adding sago or whipped cream if you like texture. Also, matcha and jasmine together are an elite pairing.

Hot vs iced jasmine milk tea

Personally, jasmine milk tea shines best when served hot. Jasmine can hide behind milk when cold, especially if the brew is lighter. Served hot, the florals bloom properly.

If you want something iced, the Matcha Jasmine Milk Tea or other non milk-heavy jasmine options are probably better choices.

And that first sip of the Snowy Jasmine Milk Tea with pine nuts? Genuinely delightful. The nuts add depth and warmth in a way I did not expect, and now I do not want it any other way.

Branding details I absolutely noticed

You know I am always watching the branding.

Molly Tea does this so well. The pink and black colour palette. The quality of the cups. Even the drink bags feel elevated. It feels like a small moment of luxury, even when you are just grabbing a drink to go.

It is giving thoughtful. It is giving intentional. It is giving someone cared.

Final thoughts on Molly Tea in Toronto

Molly Tea has a cult following for a reason. You might need to try a few drinks before you find the one that really clicks for you, but once you do, it is over. You will be back. You will bring friends. You will quietly plan errands around it.

The Fairview Mall location officially opens on January 2, 2026, with special promotions running from January 2 to January 8. We also received a lovely gift at the event, which felt like the perfect final touch to an already special experience.

If jasmine tea holds even a small place in your heart, consider this Molly Tea in Toronto review your sign.
